The University of Oregon is home to some of the largest events in the Country, including the World Athletics Championships this past summer. Unsurprisingly, events this big would call for an explosive detection dog on campus. This series of photographs features Eugene Police Department’s Officer Anthony Button and his explosive detection K9, Thor.

Officer Button started working for UOPD in March 2015.

Thor, 2, joined UOPD and became Officer Button’s partner in May 2022.
After practicing explosive detection, Thor jumps onto Officer Button for his reward — a dog toy in Button’s right pocket.
